This is a 1911 with a story. I won't go into the details since I have no way to varify it. The gun was recovered in Germany. There is some blood pitting on one side of the slide. You can even see the imprint from a coruse material that was stuck to the slide. The other side looks fine but was away from the body. there is some cut checkering on the front grip strap that I was told was done during the war. Somebody had some extra time on their hands. Just a reminder of what somebody went through for our freedom. Still it is an Ithaca and you don't see many of these any longer.
